How to Care for Wooden Doll Accessories

Quick answer

To care for wooden doll accessories, dust regularly with a soft dry cloth, clean with a barely damp cloth when needed, and store away from direct heat and moisture.

Step-by-step care routine

1. Dust regularly with a dry cloth: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the wooden surface. This removes everyday dust and prevents buildup that can scratch the finish. Avoid using feather dusters that may snag on small details.
2. Clean with a barely damp cloth: If a spot needs more than dusting, slightly dampen a cloth with water (wring it out thoroughly) and wipe the area. Dry immediately with a separate dry cloth. Never soak the wood or use cleaning sprays—excess moisture causes warping.
3. Store in a stable environment: Keep wooden doll accessories away from radiators, direct sunlight, and humid areas like bathrooms. A consistent room temperature and moderate humidity help the wood stay true to shape. If the furniture becomes sticky or cloudy, it may have been exposed to heat or moisture—stop use and let it air out in a dry place.
