Moulin Roty: 鳥の笛 - Le Jardin du Moulin

Took this on a nature walk with my nephew and he was captivated trying to mimic the calls — it's tiny enough to slip into a pocket, so it came along easily. A great little tool for sparking curiosity about which bird is making which sound outdoors.

My daughter heard a blackbird yesterday and actually recognized the call from practicing with this whistle. It's small enough to clip onto her backpack strap, so we took it on our hike and she spent an hour trying to get the robins to answer back. Such a sweet way to get kids curious about nature.

We tucked it into my son's jacket pocket for a walk and he spent the whole trail trying to mimic every chirp he heard. It's so light he forgot it was there, but the sound is clear enough to actually attract a few curious robins. Perfect little nudge to get kids looking up instead of at a screen.
